Understanding Student Practice Education Experience

The Provincial Student Practice Education (PSPE) Project focuses on assessment of student and preceptor/supervisor practice experiences to improve the quality of standardized preceptor and placement evaluation tools that institutions can use moving forward. A steering committee—representatives from the Ministry, as well as the Provincial Nursing and Allied Health Council (PNAHC) support the project strategy.

The goal is to create a robust, evidence-informed understanding of preceptor/supervisor and student placement experiences through an extensive literature review, interviews from program leads, student and preceptor/supervisor surveys, and focus group work, which together will inform the recommendation for a final standardized survey measurement tool. This project is sponsored by the BC Ministry of Education and Future Skills.
